Laguarda.Low’s open and continually evolving design philosophy begins with a methodology in which the focus of each architectural project is built upon the understanding and development of its planning and urban design role. Laguarda.Low funnels the design process into multiple options, to search and investigate all the possible alternatives, evaluate them against the program, the client’s need, the city’s requirements and the phasing strategy.

The approach and strategy for complex projects is to put the design emphasis when and where it is needed, making the process efficient and productive. The firm approaches each commission in a unique way with sensitivity to the differing programs and needs of the project, context and location. The day-to-day dedication and hands-on approach of the partners and senior designers ensures communication at all levels and eliminates unnecessary overlapping of responsibilities. There is a direct connection between the project decision makers, key design architects and design staff in the evolution of the entire project.

DISTINCTIVE CREATIVE METHODOLOGY

Laguarda.Low emphasizes client service accompanied by innovative design response; the firm has developed a unique practice methodology to achieve these goals. It is common to see a group of partners and principal designers, gathered around a large worktable spread with drawings, working together through the creative process. When challenged with projects of great complexity, our position is that such a methodology opens up design potential. As part of this emphasis on the open evolution of ideas, employees at Laguarda.Low are encouraged by the partners to explore preliminary design stages of a project through hand sketches, study models, and other manual manifestations. Designers at Laguarda.Low have developed an extraordinary ability to identify and solidify specific conceptual ideas for very complex problems, and to do so very quickly.

Through this kind of charrette process, Laguarda.Low emphasizes the importance of verifying all possible avenues of an approach before launching ourselves into the most appropriate alternative. Pablo Laguarda

FAIA 、创始合伙人、总裁

作为Laguarda.Low Architects（LLA建筑设计公司）的创始人和总裁，Pablo拥有40多年的建筑师和规划师从业经验，是纽约州和德克萨斯州的注册建筑师。他对于设计的充沛热情和卓越才华，使得他获得了导师般的声望。基于对行业深刻的理解和丰富的实践经验，他的极富创意的设计往往突破常规理念。鉴于他在建筑设计领域的杰出成就，他被接纳为美国建筑师协会的资深会员（FAIA）。Pablo在乌拉圭蒙得维的亚建筑与城市设计学院获得建筑设计学位。学习期间，他还荣获学院的年度世界游计划，用一年的时间环球旅行，遍访知名建筑和城市。

As Founder and Principal of Laguarda.Low Architects (LLA), Pablo has over 40 years of experience as an architect and planner. He is an ardent student of the profession and has established himself as a mentor within the practice, encouraging young designers to think outside the box. With a deep understanding of the profession, Pablo’s creative design approach often challenges industry standards. He is a registered architect in the states of New York and Texas and a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects based on his distinguished contribution to the field of architectural design. Pablo received his degree of Arcquitecto from the Facultad De Aquitectura y Urbanismo in Montevideo, Uruguay during which time he spent a year visiting global architectural sites with the school’s annual world tour.

John Low

As Co-Founder and Principal of Laguarda.Low Architects (LLA), John has almost 30 years of experience as an architect and planner. He possesses experiences in all phases of project development with a great emphasis on design. John leads and coordinates multi-disciplinary design teams on a variety of complex projects. With an impressive portfolio of mixed-use, retail & entertainment, hotel & resort, office, and residential projects, John is responsible for the large-scale formulation and implementation of design concepts throughout the life of a project. He is a registered architect in the states of Texas and New York. John received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and his Master of Architecture degree from University of California at Berkeley.
