该酒店是由建筑公司Edmonds International设计的，度假村圆形的前厅灵感来自昴宿星团——一个在玛雅神话中有着特殊地位的星系。Kanai在玛雅文化中被称作玛雅人的出生地，他们以此给这片土地命名，意味“天空之屋”。
