Composition in Art 流浪者驛站

華盛頓、上海、台北三地鄉異的空間，居者不同季節的停留，作為銜接三個不同城市文化的驛所，本質不變的是對居住嚮往美與藝術的存在形式。我們試圖從建築師卡洛•斯卡帕對於直線的無限性、天然石材的時間性、光線與細節形式的精神，詮釋這樣超越時間與空間的流浪者驛所。

Ellen moves by season and lives in three different place, included Washington DC, Shanghai and Taipei. How to connect three different cultures is the most important issue in the design. Designer inspired by Carlo Scarpa’s most important spirit which is unlimited line, timeliness of nature stone, light and the detail of design.

Line in Light

基地具有充足的西曬陽光條件，我們讓所有空間的牆面面向陽光，透過細膩的格柵間隙，陽光與門扇、胡桃實木產生時間軌跡的光線變化。走道盡頭的透光浴室將陽光迎向垂直的立面線條，光線堆疊導入室內，細節裝飾即透過自然的形式表現。

The main sunlight is from the west side. We try to create walls with plentiful expression via sunlight and shadow. Through the gap of grille door, sunlight plays with shadow on the walnut floor. The change of light and shadow presents the detail of the house from day to night.

Transform with time

天然的材質本身就是一種變化的形式，使用天然混麻織品、義大利洞石、北美胡桃實木，在長時間的自然環境中沉澱演變，講究手感觸碰在每種材質呈現的不同溫度與肌理，亦是空間與自然的連結，搭配細節的裝飾使藝術形式完整體現。

The significance of natural material is that it will transform with time. The texture of linen, walnut and travertine will get mellow as long as people use it. The space makes a strong connection with age through nature.

Composition in Art

隱藏在石材語彙的幾何線條背後是精心的構圖分配，以矩陣列的規格加上特定的排列組合方式，在空間上形成三度進退交錯的畫面，櫃體形式化後因而藝術化，看似冷靜的幾何線條，其實被賦予如一幅畫作的生命力。

The composition of spaces and materials are all managed carefully. Designer used different rectangles to arrange a three-dimensional scene. Not only geometry becomes alive but also the functional cabinet becomes a painting in the space.
