玉佛禅寺 Jade Buddha Temple

静安区江宁路安远路交汇，繁华的上海市区，闹中取静的世外净土，有着近百年历史的玉佛禅寺栖身于此。整体项目为修缮工程，照明顾问涉及了建筑，室内及景观三大板块的灯光设计内容，历时3年。

The Jade Buddha Temple, with nearly one hundred years of history, locates in the cross of Jiangning Road and An'yuan Road in Jingan District, which made it a peaceful pure-land in the busy downtown area of Shanghai. The project is a renovation work. The lighting consultation includes lighting design of architecture, indoor and landscape and last for 3 years.

玉佛禅寺为仿宋建筑群，布局严谨、结构和谐、气势宏伟，因寺内的两尊玉佛而得名。特殊的文化属性和宗教背景，让设计团队在整个过程中更加虔诚和严谨对待。

The building style of Jade Buddha Temple is an imitation of Song-Dynasty-style, with the rigorous layout, a harmonious structure and grandiose atmosphere. It was named after the two Jade Buddha inside the temple. The design team needs to treat the project more pious and rigorous during the whole process for its special cultural attributes and religious background.

项目周边大量老上海居民楼存在，在确保建筑自身表现力的同时，将灯光对周边居民生活的影响降至最小，是本次照明设计的重要前置条件。

There are many old residential buildings around the project site, so one important precondition for the lighting design is to ensure the expression of the building itself while also lower the impact of lighting on surrounding residents to the minimum.

如何通过现代照明的手段，在契合建筑大量木饰面和古建形态前提下，还原悠远历史氛围及宗教感，则成为考验设计师的一项重要挑战。整个设计过程中，我们与历保院进行了大量的方案沟通与论证，最终达成了古建改造完美的平衡。

An important challenge to the designer is to restore the atmosphere of a long history and the sense of religion with modern lighting techniques while also matching with the large wood veneers and ancient form of the architecture. We have communicated and discussed with the Historic Building Protection Institute on our projects for many times during the whole design process and finally reached a perfect balance between history and remolding.

正式启动设计前，团队先后考察研究了静安寺、香积寺等多个类似案例的照明。最终确认不同于大众寺庙的浮华多彩、金碧辉煌，玉佛禅寺应给人更为灵静、通透印象，通过照明, 为礼佛之人带来更为舒适的静心感。

Before the design process starts, the design team investigated on several similar lighting examples include Jing'an Temple, Xiangji Temple, etc. Different with the flashy, gorgeous, resplendent and magnificent appearance of other temples, the Jade Buddha Temple should be more serene and transparent, and we should bring a more comfortable environment of meditation to Buddhists through the lighting design.

玉佛禅寺照明设计以“雅致、静怡”为主题定位，用灯光表达玉佛禅寺静雅的宗教定位及神圣感，采用柔和舒适的照明方式，呈现禅光映射入世的既视感。

The lighting design of the Jade Buddha Temple is themed on "elegance and tranquility". We used the lighting to show the religious orientation and the sense of holiness in the Jade Buddha Temple, applying gentle and comfortable lighting, to create the visual sense of Zen light mapping in earthliness.

在实际应用中采用更趋于自然的照明手法，用灯光来描绘神圣佛光自然洒落的景象，减少现代科技感的代入，呈现玉佛禅寺庄严纯净的气氛。

In practical application, we used more natural lighting to represent the natural fallen holy light of Buddha and reduce the feeling of modern technology to create the pure and solemn atmosphere of the Jade Buddha Temple.

基于前期的调研和案例分析，罗列了现有寺庙各类打光方式和色温控制手法，探讨研究已有案例在照明设计上存在可改进的机会与手法。结合业主及历保院的需求，制定打造了本项目的设计指导原则。

Based on the investigation and analysis we did before, we enumerated various lighting methods and color-temperature control techniques existed in temples, discussed and studied on the possible improvement of existing lighting designs. We decided the design guidelines for this project, according to the requirements of the owner and the Historic Building Protection Institute.

在整体时段不同场景的需求下，综合考虑照明控制的便捷性、室内外安全隐患的规避，实现不同场景下灯光模式的自如切换。

Under the precondition of uniformity among various scenes in the whole time period, we realized the easy switch between lighting modes in different scenes with a comprehensive consideration for the convenience of lighting control and the avoidance of indoor and outdoor safety risk.

大型法会以及节日模式，完全呈现建筑形态美感。

Fully open mode : For large ceremonies and festivals, the beauty of architectural form can be wholly shown.

【 平日模式 】

表现玉佛禅寺的幽静禅意特色，

同时也为周边居民考虑，控制建筑照明亮度。

Normal mode : For the peaceful and buddhist mood of the Jade Buddha Temple, the brightness of lighting is controlled in consideration of surrounding residents.

【 深夜模式 】

弱化屋面整体亮度，提供廊道内基础照明的安全照度，

为僧人提供基础性功能照明。

Night mode : The overall brightness of the roof are weakened, only providing basic functional lighting through corridors to monks.

同时考虑到中庭广场大型法会需求，满足必要的照度。在广场四周大雄宝殿以及钟鼓楼二层檐口区域隐蔽性安装功能性投光照明，以满足寺庙方的使用需求。

The necessary brightness for large ceremonies in the atrium square is also considered. Set covert functional lighting around the square, in the great Buddha's hall and in the cornices of the second floor on the Bell and Drum Tower to meet the needs of the temple.

在深夜模式下保留一部分景观照明，间接的环境光、柔和的光感保证深夜通行舒适的同时保证一定的环境亮度。

Keep part of landscape lighting under night mode to ensure convenient passage at night and keep a certain level of ambient brightness with indirect ambient light and soft light sensation.

室内照明设计强化主体佛像，重点表现佛像光感和室内环境光感，提升氛围同时注意避免光线对参拜者的视觉干扰。

The indoor lighting design focused on the main body of Buddha statues and emphasized on the light sensation of the statue and indoor environment, enhancing the atmosphere while also avoiding the visual interruption of lighting to visitors.

在现场施工中综合考虑灯具安装的隐蔽性、灯光亮度等级的规划、灯光色温层次的规划。试灯过程中携手灯具供应商攻克多项技术难题，确保现场的最终呈现效果。

We comprehensively considered the elusiveness of lighting equipment installation, the planning of brightness, color and temperature levels of the lighting. We conquered many technical problems with lighting equipment suppliers during the testing process to ensure the final result of the lighting design.

灯具特殊改造 ：针对灯具的防眩光和柔光效果处理上设计团队与灯具厂家共同研究并尝试了多种方式，并对出光效果进行了反复测试确定灯具遮光形态。

The special transforming of lighting equipment : For the anti-dazzle and subdued light processing, the design team and lighting equipment suppliers researched together and tried many methods, then tested the actual effect repeatedly to finally decide the shading form of the lighting equipment.

屋面照明系统与建筑的隐藏结合 ：现场测试效果与灯具结合，考虑到照明效果及排水的需求，采用了海鸥脚装置对灯具进行固定。

The concealed combination of the roof lighting system and the building: Combine the test results on site with lighting equipment. And in consideration of the requirements of lighting effect and drainage, we used small transformer pins (a “Ω” shape bracket) to fix the lighting equipment.

还原建筑的方式和标准 ：通过控制光斑的梯度、灯具色容差、显指及R9的指标，逐步实现完美照射效果。

III. The way and standard of restoring the building: We realized perfect illuminating effect step by step through the control of the light spot gradient, the color tolerance of the lighting equipment and the indicator of the color rendering index and R9.

从南京大报恩寺、南京牛首山舍利塔到松江广富林文化遗址公园，基于对传统古建和现代照明的深刻理解，品光照明设计团队针对各类文旅类项目积累了丰富的设计与现场实践经验。

Through the Porcelain Tower of Nanjing, the Dagoba of Niushou Mountain in Nanjing and the Guangfulin site of ancient culture in Songjiang, the Pinko lighting design team has accumulated rich design and practical experience for all kinds cultural and tourism projects based on deep understanding of traditional architecture and modern lighting.

让那些历史长河中的瑰宝逝去时间的尘埃重焕光彩，这已不仅是品光的工作，更成为一份信念被坚守与践行。
